There are few places in Seattle that urge women to unleash their
inner girlie-girl more than Shimmer Beauty Bar. Newly opened in October and
owned by Duque Salon + Spa + Boutique owner Giovanna Duque, Shimmer is
resplendent in pink from tip to tail. Nestled next to Ella Mon in a tall, narrow space formerly
occupied by Pulp Lab, Duque envisions Shimmer as "a non-threatening place for
women to exhale, step away and reconnect with their girlfriend community" -- while enhancing their makeup application skills or just sitting back and leaving the work to the experts.
