I love the Seattle Seahawks, and I love animals, so what could be more perfect than the Seahawks helping animals? For a recent calendar shoot, the 'Hawks posed with the rescued animals of Pasado's Safe Haven and it was a zoo...literally!

Seattle's Phinney Ridge is getting a new pet store and it's aptly named after the owner's two dogs, Zak and Zoe. Billed as "a modern dog mercantile," Zak and Zoe's grand opening is this weekend and store proprietor Nadja Chorba Wiese is pulling out all the stops with a slew of local authors, artists, photographers and trainers to share their expertise in this dog eat dog world.

It's an exciting day for the "Cle Elum Seven" chimpanzees at Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest: Annie, Burrito, Foxie, Jamie, Jody, Missy and Negra. The sanctuary's outdoor area is ready for the chimps, with the doors opening at 10 AM.

I suppose you can't really call a cat scratching post "fashion," but Seattle-based Marmalade certainly creates products that are aesthetically pleasing. Not only that; they're also eco-friendly. For those reasons, Marmalade has been chosen "by a panel of judges" to participate in Pet Fashion Week, August 23-24 in New York City.
