Mudhoney headlines a free show at KEXP on July 23.

Maybe the best things in life really are free. Tonight, KEXP will host an 8 p.m. concert featuring grunge pioneers Mudhoney and noise-punk duo No Age -- and it doesn't cost a thing.

The show, which takes place in the station's parking lot at 113 Dexter Ave. N., is part of the Free Yr Radio series, which celebrates independent radio stations around the country. Go to freeyrradio.com to print your free ticket, and then head to the show early because space is limited.

Mudhoney is riding high again atop two new Sub Pop releases, and a reissue of . After paving the way for bands like Nirvana in the late '80s, Mudhoney continues to produce the same edgy rock that helped shape the Seattle music scene. Brace yourself Seattle, Mudhoney is about to plug in.

With 2008 only halfway over, critics are already claiming No Age's as one of the best albums of the year. The Los Angeles-based band uses heavy riffs laden with distortion and pounding rhythms to create driving melodies that will leave you wondering how just two guys can make so much noise. Believe the hype, No Age is a band not to be missed.
