Hold the cooking, please: Madison Park's Cafe Flora gets raw

Ever wondered what it's like to eat like a Rawist? Cafe Flora, Seattle's favorite vegetarian restaurant, is taking its wholesome M.O. to the next level with a three-course raw food market menu that will be available every night until Sept. 11.
- Course 1: Sun Kissed Salad with Martin Family Orchard Peaches, arugula, blueberries and lemon ginger dressing.
- Course 2: Whistling Train Squash Blossoms Plate, accompanied by sweet corn and miniature summer squash with cilantro, jalapenos and pistou.
- Course 3: Coconut Cacao Crème Pie with pecan crust and boysenberry coulis.
Rawists believe cooking food strips it of nutrients and enzymes important to digestion. They advocate that eating raw food is the ideal diet for human beings, preventing many types of chronic illness and disease.
Cafe Flora has previously done raw meals on special nights or by request with two days advance notice, but this is the first time the Madison Park mainstay has featured raw cuisine on its rotating spotlight menu. If it's not your thing, don't worry. Their regular award-winning vegetarian fare is still cookin'.
