For those of us in the Pacific Northwest -- two- and four-legged alike -- we know how to have fun in the summer. After all, it's three months (if we're lucky) of sun-filled and rain-free days. With all of the pet festivals we pack into these fleeting days, a little help is always appreciated in finding the pick of the litter. Here's a four-legged-friendly event to top your festival to-do list this weekend.
The Dugan Foundation and Protect Adoptable Labs (PALs) present Woofstock '08 at Todd Field in Tacoma. Woofstock is free, but of course your donation will go to a great cause, and the event is open to everyone -- even the four-legged ones.
While you're there, visit the Adoption Village, cosponsored by the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County and Pawsitive Alliance, where you can meet animals looking for new homes, learn from local animal experts, and take a break in a dog-wading pool.
Stroll through the Merchant Village before you relax in the grass as you listen to the WiseCracker Band, the VZ Valley Boys, and Starstruck. There's even karaoke for those itching to howl a tune.
WHEN: Sunday, August 3, 2008; 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
WHERE: Todd Field on the campus of the University of Puget Sound, 1500 N. Warner St., Tacoma, WA 98416.
