It's a mod, mod world
Change your style with a change of nail color

The swinging '60s are back in style complete with bold, graphic mini dresses, patent white platforms (this time in a sandal, not a boot) and bright acrylic earrings. But a word of caution – don't go Twiggy and put it all into one look. Achieve a more subtle version of the mod look by switching up your nail color.
Available at any great nail salon, the season's hottest colors are pastels in unique shades of lilac, mint and pearly white. Don't be afraid of the light purples and greens showing up. As Essie Weingarten, president of Essie Cosmetics and the brains behind manicure staples like Marshmallow and Ballet Slippers, tells us, "There are no 'rules' when it comes to nail color – you can wear whatever color you want whenever you want as long as you like the color – your nail color is a way to express your personality." Essie fans will love this season's newest shade called Guchi Muchi Puchi, a lovely lavender that allows you to embrace the retro trend without looking like a go-go dancer ($8) at Spa Jolie and various local spas and salons.
