Seattle's Phinney Ridge is getting a new pet store and it's aptly named after the owner's two dogs, Zak and Zoe. Billed as "a modern dog mercantile," Zak and Zoe's grand opening is this weekend and store proprietor Nadja Chorba Wiese is pulling out all the stops with a slew of local authors, artists, photographers and trainers to share their expertise in this dog eat dog world.
The festivities kick off Saturday, Sept. 6 at 11 a.m. A sampling of the day's special guests include dog trainer Grisha Stewart from Ahimsa Dog Training, Seattle pet photographer Jamie Pflughoeft from Cowbelly Pet Photography, artist Marilyn Carr and author/artist Connie Conley.
The festivities continue on Sunday, Sept. 7, with Families Against Breed Bans, Jen Streit from Hands to Paws Small Animal Massage, local photographer J. Nichole Smith from Dane + Dane Studios, Vicki Holt from Animals Reign and Ginger Luke from Ginger's Pet Rescue.
And what festivity would be complete without goody bags chock full of yummy treats and other swag? So, if your pooch loves to shop (okay, if YOU love to shop), swing on by Zak and Zoe this weekend at 7400 Greenwood Ave. N. in Seattle.
