Baby showers, like bridal showers, have great possibilities. On one hand, the event could be a sweet celebration with close friends in anticipation of an amazing, life changing event. The other possiblity, not to sound ungrateful, is a pile of useless gifts and too much cake.
As the host of a shower, there is the pressure of keeping guests entertained and fed, while simultaneously making the special lady feel like everything is exquisitely tailored to her desires. Should you find yourself hosting a baby shower, you needn't worry about all of that: Georgia Blu has you covered.
The darling West Seattle children's boutique is now offering after-hours, adult-only showers in the charmingly decorated shop. Owner Krista Means has paired up with local catering company Gourmondo to create a special menu for showers, which features such fine sounding items as poached eggs with white bean pureee or savory chicken tartlets. Guests will be greeted with a cool glass of Lillet and encouraged to find the perfect gift for the mommy-to-be while celebrating and grazing with friends. The fee for the evening ($25 per head for menu, $22.50 per head for drinks) is, alas, not for everyone, but those who can swing it will be treated to a delicious spread that includes Vinsanto or Sauternes and tea cookies for dessert.
Although the shop is always in great style, special items such as vintage toys and tea lights will come out for the celebration. Sounds like a sure-to-please solution for all parties.
