Snark it up with funny Valentine's Day cards
Who needs mush? Not your valentine. Find V-Day greetings with a sense of humor, online or locally

In case you've missed the clues -- red- and pink-packaged candies at the grocery store, nervous men standing in front of the jewelry store and an overabundance of red roses at the flower shop -- Valentine's Day is upon us.
If that was an "Oh, crap!" I just heard, then you are probably among those who refuse to revere the holiday the way Hallmark would like you to. Whether your disdain for the holiday is genuine or feigned (because you simply forgot about it), consider sending your sense-of-humor-possessing significant other a snarky note to commemorate the day that inspires romance in some and agony in others.
We found a few sources to help you get your irreverent message across. A couple can be found at local stores, but as Valentine's Day is tomorrow, some are online. (Spin alert: Of course you didn't forget; you care about the environment, and online cards are eco-friendly.)
"Love and Hate"
The double-sided "Love and Hate" card from Whimsy Press is the perfect note for acknowledging the dysfunctional relationship you can't seem to leave. How your evening ends will likely depend on which side your significant other sees first. $4.50 at Swee Swee Paperie in West Seattle.
"I've Liked You..."
If love is too strong a word for your relationship, opt for this more moderate show of endearment. Inside, the card reads: "From the very first flirt." $3.50 at Bert's Red Apple Market in Madison Park.
Picnik Photo Cards
This Seattle-based online service allows you to pull images from photo sites such as Flickr and craft them into personal greeting cards with Valentine's-themed shapes and fonts. (Insert sarcastically lovable comment here.) Free with registration at www.picnik.com.
Someecards
There is nothing gentle about the snark found on this e-card site. Most of the Valentine's Day options are not safe for work and cannot be repeated here, but are nonetheless wildly hilarious. The one we like: "Let's ironically celebrate Valentine's Day by going on a date." Free at www.someecards.com.
