Get wrapped up in Packaging Specialties' big sale

Ribbons, cards, gift wrap and more are deeply discounted at the South Seattle shop

May 31, 2007

Packaging Specialties

Martha Stewart wannabes, brides-to-be, party planners and folks who just need nice wrapping paper and ribbon should head south on Saturday, June 2. Packaging Specialties, purveyor of all sorts of pretty packaging supplies, is holding its fourth annual garage sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"It's our way of cleaning out and getting ready for the busy fall season," says store manager Joan Wright. You'll find big discounts of 50 percent or more on discontinued gift wrap, holiday wrap, ribbons, gift bags and boxes, tissue, cards and display samples. For example, a 15-foot roll of the store's signature paper line, which normally sells for $10.50 (already a bargain when compared to national card-store chains), will sell for $4. Many items are marked with colored dots and will go for $1 to $2. There's such an abundance of sale-priced merchandise that it spills over from the retail area into the store's spacious classrooms.

You can do good and feel good while snapping up those bargains—the store will donate a portion of its sales that day to the Ronald McDonald House and the Seattle Family & Adult Service Center.

As always, get there early for the best selection. Last year there were 50 bargain hunters in line before the doors opened.
