AARON'S BICYCLE REPAIR
Aaron of Aaron's Bicycle Repair, where a "retro-modern" attitude rules.

Bike shops
Seattle consistently ranks among the nation's top cities for biking, both in terms of how many people do it and how safe and pleasant it is to do. No surprise, then, that the city has more top-notch cycle shops than you can shake a bike pump at.
20/20 Cycle (Capitol Hill)
Located in the Central District, 20/20 Cycle is more than a business -- it's a community hub. The shop does repairs of all kinds and sells vintage, new and custom-built bikes.
Aaron's Bicycle Repair (West Seattle)
This West Seattle shop has won awards for sustainable practices. Its other outstanding qualities include a wacky sense of humor, a "fitting area" to help you determine whether a bike is for you, a library of more than 150 bike books you can check out and a full repair shop.
Alki Bike and Board (West Seattle)
It may be small, but this West Seattle bike and skateboard shop manages to cram a lot under one roof.
Bicycle Center of Seattle (Sandpoint/Wedgwood)
This North End shop sells bikes from Raleigh, GT, Redline and other major brands. BCS has been around since 1969 and is conveniently located near the Burke-Gilman Trail, for those who can't wait to get on a new bike and ride like the wind. The store also rents bikes by the hour or the day.
Bike Works (Columbia City/Rainier Valley)
This Rainier Valley bicycle center's many services include youth programs, a "recycling cycles" component, biking events and a shop where you can buy used two-wheelers and/or learn to fix them up.
Bothell Ski & Bike (Bothell)
Located along The Burke-Gilman Trail, Bothell Ski and Bike is a family-owned and operated ski, snowboard and bike shop.
Elliott Bay Bicycles (Downtown)
Elliott Bay is a general-purpose bike shop, but it also contains a full-service frame shop, and the bike-loving folks who work there can give you a custom paint job, restore your old clunker to working order or just fix a flat tire.
Free Range Cycles (Fremont)
Free Range offers a "service menu" that ranges from getting air in your flat tire to "The Montana," a complete overhaul. The Fremont shop also sells clothing, accessories and bikes from Soma, Surly, Jamis and other brands.
Gregg's Greenlake Cycle (Green Lake)
Since 1932, Gregg's Greenlake Cycle has been serving the needs of Seattle's two-wheel aficionados. Its selection is vast, its staff knowledgeable and its location -- just a few steps from one of Seattle's most popular recreation paths -- is absolutely prime.
Il Vecchio (Madison Park/Madrona)
Its name means "the old one," but this Madrona/Leschi shop keeps only the most up-to-date bike stuff in stock. Consequently, only serious cyclists, or those interested in becoming serious, need usually apply.
Montlake Bicycles (University/Montlake)
In additional to offering rental bikes at very affordable prices, Montlake is a friendly neighborhood place to get your bicycle shopping done. Whether you're into mountain bikes, road bikes or even recumbents, they've got your number. The shop does repairs, too.
R+E Cycles (University/Montlake)
R+E has been around since 1973, supplying cycle-philes with two-wheelers, repair classes, repair services and even tandem bikes, for bike-crazy couples who can't bear the thought of taking to the streets on separate cycles.
Recycled Cycles (University/Montlake)
Recycled Cycles is the place to go to sell your bike that's gathering dust in the basement, or to buy a reliable bike without spending a fortune.
Second Ascent (Ballard/Crown Hill)
The prices for used sporting goods here range from "That's reasonable" to "Are you serious? I'll take five." Great buys on skiing and climbing equipment as well as an extensive array of bike components, helmets, shoes, tires and so on.
Speedy Reedy (Fremont)
Don't let the name of this multisport and triathlon-equipment store scare you away. Speedy Reedy, located on the Burke-Gilman Trail, has swim, cycling and running gear for athletes of any speed or body type.
Supergo Bike Shops (University/Montlake)
Supergo's shop floor is immense; the central space is dominated by racks where the store stocks almost 600 bikes, from full-on road racers to downhill screamers, with a selection of tamer city, sport, mountain and cruiser bikes. The store repairs bikes and sells parts and accessories, too.
Velo Bike Shop (Capitol Hill)
This Capitol Hill bike shop carries new and used cycles and tons of gear and accessories. There's also a full-service repair shop -- and mechanics you can actually trust -- on the premises, and everyone's really friendly and helpful.
Wright Brothers Cycle Works (Fremont)
Named after Wilbur and Orville of transportation-innovation fame, and around since 1974, Wright Brothers sells and services both common commuter bikes and specialty bikes for road racing and other purposes. The store also offers a co-op workshop space and repair classes.
