High style is boss at Pioneer Square clothing boutique Bossi & Ich Ky
The new shop features au courant apparel from fashion's global hot spots

The goods inside Bossi & Ich Ky are in stark anachronistic contrast to the shop's Pioneer Square environs. Nestled among blocks of turn-of-the-century architecture, the boutique carries up-to-the-nanosecond apparel from a variety of fashionable cities and countries, including New York, Los Angeles, London, Italy and Japan.
The recently opened boutique has a woodsy earth-and-ocean feel and the décor is a mix of decades. Floors are covered in a variety of hardwoods, ceilings sport crown molding, walls are covered with old-fashioned wallpaper in soft seafoam green, and dusty-blue velvet dressing room curtains drape to the floor. Wrought iron accents, black cut-glass chandeliers, a faux fireplace and a '60s-ish circular iron staircase add drama.
You'll find both men's and women's clothing here, as well as women's accessories. Prices reflect the fast and fickle world of fashion.
For the gals, a recent visit uncovered an abundance of slinky date tops and party dresses in the $250 to $400 range. A Julie Haus silk sheath dress comes in a bright pink, melon, green and red oversized floral print ($374). Young, Broke & Fabulous raw-edged shorts ($71) and hoodies ($141) are a casual departure from the dressier pieces. The Blank label denims were only $70, while Odyn jeans ran $250. There's a nod toward sustainability with bamboo fiber Panda Snack tees for $85.
The men's section focuses on well-fitting design and tailored clothing rather than relaxed styles, as well as neutral colors and a profusion of apparel from France's Billtornade label. In fact, a chartreuse Billtornade shirt ($162) provided the only exception to the men's palette of gray, brown and black. Other choices included Italian-made nylon jackets by Dondop ($411), Degaine cotton knit sweaters ($250) and denim from J Brand and Chip & Pepper.
Note to bargain hunters: Beginning July 1, everything at Bossi & Ich Ky goes on sale for up to 45 percent off. The discounts will last until the current merchandise is cleared out. Note to the store's manager: Plug in the i-Pod. The too-loud radio blasting commercials just doesn't cut it.
