Is it too early to start planning for fall? Not if you'd like to sign up for a PCC Natural Markets Kids Cook workshop. The Fall 2008 calendar just came out; there are plenty of tasty options at PCC locations throughout Seattle and the Eastside.

Toddlers (ages 2 through 3) can mix batter for the Holiday Cookies session with a favorite adult (that's you). Elementary-age kids will bake gingerbread houses and preschoolers will create pizzas. And Gordon Ramsay doesn't teach at PCC, so each class should be a tantrum-free experience.

A particularly sweet note: a "Brunch with my 'Tween and Me" class for 10-12 year olds and their favorite adult, which may or may not be you. Tweens can change their minds about that sort of thing daily. Send Grandma if necessary.

Both of my kids (2 and 8) enjoyed PCC cooks classes and I can't rave about the foodie fun enough. Great menus, developmentally appropriate mixing and mashing strategies, plus recipes to take home. It's a good deal for everyone.

However, half of Seattle seems to know about these classes. Spots always sell out far in advance. Reserve space now for your Cordon Bleu baby.
