BabyLegs showcases leg warmers for tots at its open house

Whether you dote on your own baby or your favorite niece, who isn't a sucker for adorable kids' clothing? Get in touch with your inner ga-ga at a special open house event on Friday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the new BabyLegs warehouse.

The company, which produces a line of fashionable and functional leg warmers for babies and children, is opening its doors for a day of food, fun and fashion – the baby variety, that is. BabyLegs (about $12 per pair of leggings), available in newborn and children's sizes, are made of an ultra-soft and stretchy blend of 80 percent cotton, 15 percent polyester and 5 percent spandex. The super-cute leggings keep tiny legs (and arms, too) warm on cold Seattle days, make diaper changes a breeze and protect soft knees from hardwood floors, all while making a fun fashion statement. After all, who wouldn't want to dress their tyke in polka-dot or candy-cane striped leggings?

Have a little one at home? Don't leave him with daddy. While parents browse through the store – and snack on organic hors d'oeuvres – kids are invited to enjoy the on-site playroom.

Creations from other Seattle-based designers are also featured at the event, including All-Weather Woobee Blankets, chic (and fuzzy and warm, too) baby blankets ($70) and bibs ($18) made of water-resistant nylon on one side and plush softness on the other; and Kate Quinn Organics, stylish apparel for babies and kids made from the 100 percent certified organic fabrics.

A percentage of the sales from the open house will be donated to the Sanyu Babies Orphanage in Uganda. In addition, any clothes, cloth diapers and toys brought in for donation to the orphanage will be packaged and sent on to Sanyu's staff.
