Valentine's Day hotel packages

The Fairmont Olympic Hotel

Want to get away for Valentine's Day? It might be too late – and too expensive – to book a trip to Paris (unless, that is, you have deep pockets and a private jet), but a romantic night spent downtown is always an inviting possibility. Sure, the Space Needle isn't exactly the Eiffel Tower, but you can still find romance in Seattle with a little help from these local boutique hotels:

The Alexis Hotel
The Alexis Hotel's "Art of Romance" package (starting at $300) includes a comfy room for two, chilled champagne, "aphrodisiac" chocolates and a box of lotions and potions from the hotel's Etherea Spa. And go ahead and sleep in – the hotel allows lovebirds to take advantage of a late, 3 p.m. checkout.

The Sorrento Hotel
The Sorrento Hotel is romantic, even when it's not Feb. 14. So, you'll have no problem wooing your sweetie with its Valentine's Day package ($475 for a deluxe room, $520 for a suite). You'll enjoy champagne for two, truffles, a $100 dining credit at the Sorrento's Hunt Club Restaurant and a special rose-petal turndown before bed.

Hotel Vintage Park
Ask for the "Love Me Tender" package (starting at $279) at Hotel Vintage Park and here's what you'll get: a cozy room for two (with champagne on ice and truffles waiting), a $50 credit good for an in-room breakfast and Elvis Presley's "50 Greatest Love Songs" CD for your listening pleasure.

Inn at El Gaucho
There's more to love about El Gaucho than steak. Above the restaurant, the Inn at El Gaucho is offering the "Romance Package" ($590) for lovebirds of the, um, carnivorous variety. You'll enjoy a night in one of the inn's luxury suites and a bottle of Billecart salmon champagne served in your room. And, save your appetite: Dinner awaits. With the package, you'll get a $100 dining credit to El Gaucho (with priority reservations and seating), along with fresh flowers, chocolate truffles and complimentary valet parking.

Hotel 1000
Ask for the "Do Not Disturb" package (starting at $500) at Seattle's Hotel 1000, and treat your valentine to a deluxe guest room overlooking Elliott Bay and Puget Sound, and chocolate-dipped seasonal fruit paired with a bottle of Cave B Estate Winery sparkling wine from Eastern Washington. You'll also enjoy an intimate dinner for two with a $100 dining certificate to the hotel's restaurant, Boka Kitchen + Bar. Return to your suite and find music in the air – courtesy of a Diana Krall CD – and a freshly drawn bubble bath dressed with rose petals. Oooh la la!

The Fairmont Olympic Hotel
Check into the Fairmont for the "Cupid's Do Not Disturb" package (starting at $699) and get a spacious executive suite. But first, check your PDA, cell phone and laptop at the concierge desk (really, the Fairmount staff will keep your gadgets in a safe location so you can focus entirely on your valentine). The package includes an indulgent "aphrodisiac" four-course dinner in the hotel's dining room, chocolate-dipped strawberries, breakfast in bed the following morning and a late checkout for those looking to linger undisturbed.
